Want to hire a SUP or kayak to explore Brighton's beautiful coastline? Look no further! We're based at Sea Lanes, right on Brighton Beach, and our activity area enjoys stunning views across the coast (plus occasional dolphin visits).
Our hire service is open from April to September. Please see below our hire FAQs and important info, and contact us to make a booking.
Who can hire?
Anyone aged 16 or over, or between the ages of 8 and 15 with a counter signature from a parent or guardian (max. 2:1 child to parent ratio). All participants must be able to swim at least 25m unaided and complete a pre-hire waiver. We cannot hire to anyone under the age of 8 even with a parent present.
How much does it cost?
Stand Up Paddle Board - £20 per hour (1 person)
Single Kayak - £20 per hour (1 person)
Double Kayak - £30 per hour (2 people)

What's provided?
We provide kayaks or boards, paddles, a full safety briefing, and any mandatory safety equipment including buoyancy aids for your hire. If you wish to use a wetsuit, use of this is included free of charge with any SUP or kayak hire. We do not provide swimwear or towels, but we do sell a limited range of these in our shop.
What do I need to bring?
Swimwear/clothing suitable for the activity, towel, and photo ID (passport or driving licence) for us to hold as a deposit for the duration of the hire.
Please be aware we don't have changing or shower facilities, and only a very limited number of small storage lockers for valuables, but there are some beach-side cold showers and a few larger outdoor lockers a few minutes walk down the beach. Please bring a padlock if you wish to use a locker.

First, check the announcement bar at the top of this page to check that the rental isn't closed due to weather conditions, then either pop in to see us and we'll be able to serve you as soon as your equipment is available, or check ahead if there's a queue by viewing our waitlist at the bottom of this page.
If there is a queue, you can join virtually but you need to be at the shop within 10 minutes of being alerted, so make sure you don't stray too far!
